QITV have been awarded a new commission from the BBC’s daytime quiz tender, following a six month process that began with 30 entertainment producers.
The Tournament will be produced from Scotland and is being overseen by daytime commissioning editors Alex McLeod and Neil McCallum.
Exec produced by Simon Urwin, The Tournament will see eight contestants compete in a series of fast-paced quiz battles in an attempt to eliminate their opponents from the day’s game and walk away with a cash prize.
BBC head of daytime and early peak Carla-Maria Lawson described the show as a “stand out format in a competitive field” that "combines distinctive edge-of-seat game play with a plethora of general knowledge to satisfy viewers who love to play along at home."
The selection process for contestants is underway - details for applying can be found here.
